Home sales in the Montreal area continued to increase in March compared to the same month last year.

The Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers of Quebec indicates that 4,975 homes changed hands in the region last month, an increase of 11.7% compared to the 4,455 sales in March 2024.

In Montreal, the year-over-year increase in activity in March stands out from the data published by the real estate boards of other major cities, such as Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary, where home sales have decreased due to economic concerns related to the ongoing trade war.

The median price of all types of housing in the Montreal region has also increased year-over-year, thanks to a 10.7% rise in the price of a plex, which is set at $830,000.
